Curious Obama
*Editor’s Note: No words….just read!
Curious George peeling a banana, with “Obama in ‘08″ underneath, are not meant to offend.
Norman acknowledged the imagery’s Jim Crow roots but said he sees nothing wrong with depicting a prominent African-American as a monkey,
“We’re not living in the (19)40’s,” he said. “Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears — he looks just like Curious George.”
About a dozen prostestors rallied against the shirts Tuesday afternoon, condemning them as racist and asking Norman, longtime proprietor of Mulligan’s Bar and Grill on Roswell Street, to stop selling them.
Marietta native Pam Lindley, 47, joined the protest after reading about the controversy online.
“I don’t want people to think this is what Marietta is all about,” she added, motioning towards the tavern. “This is what some people think the South is still like. Marietta’s come a long way but I guess it’s still got a little ways to go.”

I think it’s funny. I’m sorry. If he looks like George he does! I don’t know what the intentions of the creator was but it’s not like the shirt says “Vote for the Nigger in ‘o8″ it’s just a pic of Curious George! I don’t know. I laughed. lol
I wasn’t offended.

There are some just plain ol’ ignant motherfuckers in this world! Don’t they realize by now that Black people aren’t going anywhere, a lot of us are educating ourselves, and we are upwardly mobile? These fools need to realize it’s a whole new world outside of that “Cracka” box they live in!

I saw this on CNN yesterday evening.
I really don’t even know what to type when it comes to this article because so much is going through my mind - but I’ll try my best to word my thoughts.
I’m amazed at how this man - that supposedly has no problem regarding race - doesn’t see what is wrong with these so called “cute” shirts featuring a monkey and a presidential candidate that he is not even voting for.
Everyone knows that everyone other than the Caucasian race is called a monkey as a slur, but it’s mainly used as to describe either an African American or a black American. He had those shirts made out of ignorance and hate - there’s no doubt about that.
On CNN, he called into the show and said that he didn’t know if he was going to make more shirts or not and that he would not apologize.
Now, if he really had a heart and realized that the shirts were offensive to people, he would apologize and never even THINK about making more shirts.
Again, as stated above - he’s ignorant, and he has hate in his heart whether he wants to admit it or not.

A monkey has WAY more intelligence than George W. Bush.
